Verify & Lock In

Complete verification: ID, card, rental agreement, and coverage (COI or our Damage Waiver (BDDW)) as outlined in our Rental Agreement & Coverage. Fees are paid before pickup – booking reserved.

Pickup, Shoot, Return

Rates & Payments

  • Day rates vary; most orders fall in the $125–$400/day range.
  • Multi-day and multi-item discounts are possible.
  • All rental fees are due before pickup.

Deposits & Holds

  • Security holds may apply based on order value and renter history.
  • Holds are released after on-time return and inspection.
  • Late returns or damage may result in additional charges.

Black Dolphin Rentals is a small, focused rental house built by a working LA shooter tired of flaky gear, vague policies, and slow communication. It started with one camera and a few lights; now it’s a curated mix of cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, and support from Sony, Aputure, Astera, DJI, and more—picked because they hold up on set.

We run by-appointment pickup from a residential location about 15 minutes south of Downtown LA. No walk-in showroom, no front desk—just direct access to someone who understands call sheets, shot lists, and rental deadlines.

What are standard pickup/return times?

Standard hours are 9am–5pm by appointment. Typical pattern:

NEXT DAY SHOOTS: Pick up the afternoon before, between 1–5pm.
RETURNS: Before 12pm (noon) on return date.

SAME-DAY SHOOT: Pick up after 9am (if available), return by 12pm next day.

Do you require insurance?

Higher-value orders often need a COI naming Black Dolphin Creative LLC (dba Black Dolphin Rentals) as Additional Insured/Loss Payee.
Smaller orders may be eligible for our Damage Waiver (BDDW) instead of a COI.
Coverage details are always outlined before payment in our Rental Agreement & Coverage.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes, delivery is available for an additional fee, subject to our schedule and availability. Let us know your dates, gear list, delivery time, and address. We’ll let you know what’s possible.
